Calling all Solo2 owners, need advice

Hi guys, I've got Solo2 unit but I think mine is faulty but before I ship it back to the store I'd like to confirm the behavior with other owners. What I'm seeing is constant packet loss when I "ping IP -t" my Solo2 every couple of packets gets lost. Also looking at the back of the unit at network card it shows two leds on network plug, from my understanding green should be solid light and orange blink when data transfer happens, in my case orange do blink but green will light up and after few seconds light down. Also watching movies from network drive freezes often which would be the case with lost packets. I also tried to reflash unit and even changed from dynamic to static IP with no luck.

Can someone who owns Solo2 confirm that they have solid green light at network plug and don't see packets lost.

    Hello Dimus!

My friend has one Solo2, I asked him but he doesn't see packets lost with with solid green lights. Try to configure your router. Maybe that helps.

I tried to look at network settings but there isn't anything that would help to cure the issue.

Are you saying that your friend has green light lit up all the time? Its not lights up and down?

Yes, I'm saying that there was constant green light. Try to use it with a wifi stick. If it works with a wifi stick, there's no problem with the connection.

I have tried Vix and BH. Same thing, I have spare wifi usb card Edimax EW-7811Un, does it need additional configuration on the box if I'll plug it on?

No, you don't have to confogure it if you plug it on, you just have to enter the wifi password. If the USB card doesn't work, try it with an other type because the receiver doesn't support every type of wifi card.

                    hi Dimus

does your router has the latest firmware? Did you try turning off all hardware and cables for a whole night - seems stupid, but really helped me in the past - somehow some settings stay in the boxes/routers for several hours, and are 'cleaned' after shutting all down.

Re: Calling all Solo2 owners, need advice

                      Hi, issue narrowed down.

First tried WiFi dongle to verify it's the issue with network card. Whilst on WiFi no packet lost or freezing.

Next tried different network cable, same issues.

Next tried to plug Solo directly to my laptop and voil'a green (left) light is solid and no packet loss, so that leads to a faulty ethernet ports on router.

Tried second router (original from broadband supplier), voil'a green light is lit constantly and again no packet loss.

So I was right that there was a problem in network but looked at the wrong end, now ordered a replacement (good old Amazon) will double test it when arrives

Case closed! Thank You everyone who tried to help me!
