Yes, pretty sure it does. My vu+ duo did so a Solo should as well

Of course you can

The only thing you have to do is to mount any external device you have (in many images this can be done automatically) and set up the recordings paths.

Hi koppi

and welcome to the forum

BH image is a very good image but for me isn't the perfect.

After many images I have tried, I think that OpenPLi image is better because it's faster , more stable and includes only the necessary not overloading by this way your box with plugins and other things that you don't need.

If you need a plugin the only you have to do is to download it through the feed server of OpenPLi directly in your box and install it.

I would say the 3 best images for vu+ are vix, blackhole and openpli.
It is very much up to the user, but these are the 3 most popular.

last week I I had a problem with my sat-motor which has been solved

After I solved that problem, with some help from SL members too, and the motor is working again, another (small) problem came up with my VU+solo
sometimes when I am on hotbird and try to move another sat it does not find the sat I want,
What I do I return to hotbird go to setup
-service searching
-sat finder (hotbird signal is over 85%) ,
I press positioner storage,
reboot VU ..
.and all comes OK it finds various satelites with v.good signals
until it loose again the setting AND I have to re-do all that
Can someone tell me and guide me what I have wrong in the setting
I am sure its a setting issue because it works v. good till it is ''blocked''again
I was thinking of flashing with a newer BH image , because I have an 'old one' installed

Are you using usals? If so there should not be a problem. And the updated image is a very good idea or try Openpli4 I think you will be impressed.

I think that by flashing your box with a newest version of BlackHole or either OpenPli, you will solve your problem

Maybe the current config is not completely with the last image.
I think it doesn't work well with the function you mentioned.
Try to reflash it with another one.

Just a question !!!
As i said above I would like to give my VU+solo a good recent Image
my vu+solo have an old image installed BlackHole 1.7.2 , over 2 years old, BUT always worked smooth and without trouble, that is why i never went for a new image
but now I think its time to update to a newer image
was going to install BH 2.1.4B
My question is ..do i install the new image directly or I have to update step by step till I arrive to 2,1,4B
its been a long time since I installed the old image , so I really don't know exactly what to do . I remember I installed an extension (forgot what it was ) to the software to allow more space for tspanel, , do i have to do the same
I would like to do a fullbackup of the image/setting I have now , just in case,, how do you do thid on Solo
would appreciate some help

hello

i tell you from my experience of linux distro update on linux pc:

and finally, the conclusion is:

- i reinstall a whole fresh and new image (distro)

- i do not spend my time anymore for the upgrade process.

This is fast, clean, direct, secure, coherent.

With apt-get upgrade, there is always a mismatch somewhere with at leat one dependency(ies) in the libs ...

So, i reinstall a fresh linux distro periodically ...

And this is not a real problem, as the installation procedure becomes a routine

As long as you note, carefully, step by step, each command,
to turns these notes into a evolutive recipy.
This will make it easier and easier next time.
