    Changing TimeZone

    Hi all,

    I have OpenPLI, but my TimeZone is stuck to UTC and its one hour behind there is no way to change it to correct time.

    Anyone has any suggestion how to change the time in VU

    Re: Changing TimeZone

    To change the timezone, it should be something like

    Setup -> System -> Timezone

    The time is set from satellite transmission, so is set when you tune to a channel.

      Yes it is

      Setup -> System -> Timezone

      but its stuck to "UTC" and there is no way for me to change it.

      It suppose to get right time from the channels but its getting one hour erlier when its 11am it says 10am.

      Isnt any way to manually to change it.

        If you telnet/ssh to the box you can set the date and time manually:

        date -s YYYY.MM.DD-hh:mm:ss

            Re: Changing TimeZone

            To change the timezone should be + & - in hours or with the OpenPLI

            *example

            Just attached a file. add that and change the .xml to:
            ##########################################
            <zone name="(GMT-07:00) Arizona" zone="MST" />
            ##########################################

            that will fix it.

              @easydigital, which .xml file to change?

              Another option might be to tune to a channel in your correct timezone, then reboot the box. It should restart on that same channel, and the time will then be set correctly.

                  Cannot access timezone.xml

                  When trying to access /etc/timezone.xml it says:
                  "Error: Critical file transfer error"

                    It maybe a link, try /etc/tuxbox/timezone.xml.

                    Have you tried my suggestion:

                    Another option might be to tune to a channel in your correct timezone, then reboot the box. It should restart on that same channel, and the time will then be set correctly.

                      Re: Changing TimeZone

                      I tried everything, when I changed manually the time it worked but when I restarted again it went back to wrong time again.

                      I just have to wait to another clock change

                        I've also had the same situation.

                        The selecting a channel in my own timezone fixed it for me.
                        A couple of seconds on there until the time was set and then any other zapping worked fine, and time didn't change.

                        It seem to get the time from initial set-up so if your start-up channel is UTC that's what it sticks with.

                          I had the same problem with my receiver with the summertime and with the daylight saving. It was coming up with the wrong epg. I reset the time and restarted the receiver then redownloaded the epg and it is fine now.
