    begining with local

    Hi,
I'm obout to start as a server without a local card.
I'm familiar with cccam only as a client.
Do I need anything else besides Cccam? I mean is cccam capable of reading and share or do I need something like newcs or sbox for the reading card part?

    thanx a lot.
    -Vu+ Duo with blackhole 1.45
    -Motsat 3 +120cm dish
    -Cccam 2.2.1
    -local and full card.

I've moved this thread to the VU section as you will need someone from there to reply. The answer will be different for every box (on my receiver I need to run newcs as well as cccam).

In short, if cccam can read the card on your receiver, you will not need to do anything else apart from redirect a port on your router to the port on your receiver.

It depends of your card, some of them can be readed using only oscam or newcs.

And yes CCcam can read some type of cards.

Also keep in mind that if you intend to have lots of users then you should consider a linux PC in conjunction with cardreaders

For that you'll need to use oscam or newcs, i recomand oscam

You won't be able to read a N3 card with cccam, also keep in mind that for that specific card you'll need t RSA and BK from the reciver firmware.

            Good luck

I think you are wrong. There are 2 types of D+ cards V10 and rom180
For the Rom180 N3 you need BK and RSA as you said.
For v10 I don't need it cos is a seca card (I think)

Bad news is I can get HD chanels with V10

Very good, then the only thing to worry is about if a vu duo will be stable with 15-20 clients.

Also what type of internet do you have, i suppose is ADSL, at which upload speed ?

I don't think newcs works on the Vu+ anyway...

I've found depending on what card you want to use depends on the Cam you will required.

So far not had much probelms with Oscam in getting cards to read.
