    Hi
I've been advised by a forum member to try a new version of software on my vu duo
I'm using blackhole 2.02 and they are advising me to use open pli.
what I need help with is can I make a complete image of my vu duo before installing this software in case I don't like it or have issues
    Thanks.

      Hello

I think that the blackhole image has a plugin for system backup.
Use a usb stick to make a full backup of your system or save only your settings.
If you can't find it , you can install tspanel and use the application for backup.

You can make a full backup in the menu. Just choose backup location and create the backup.

2.02 is a very old version better to update to 2.08 and use meoboot to install Openpli 3 and test other images. Your friend is right Open pli is very good.

            Hi
            Happy new year
Ive looked at the back up menu and all I can see is personal backup and egp backup
I've found complete backup which is turned off in blackhole speedup menu
When I turn it on it goes through loading it then asks to restart
But when its restarted its still in off position is there another setting I need to set to allow it to work
            Thanks

              Hello

You can go to the download's plugins from blackhole server through your box and install a plugin that can make a full backup of your system.

The installation that you have now, is rather old and maybe not functioning properly.

If you don't take a full backup, make a personal backup and save what is necessary.
              Don't worry...
You will find again the plugins and epg.
There is no need to keep them.

                  I think... yes

You can always open the backup file and see with your eyes what contains
                  If you can see: mg_cfg, newcamd.list, cccamd.list, SoftCam.key, CCcam.cfg you are ok.

Also, you can do it manually by using DCC and taking all the necessary files.

Btw , since you have Vu+ you can use the VUCC from your pc and take all the above files as backup in section"settings backup".
Hit the button backup settings to local hdd.
All your settings for mgcamd , cccam and channels bouquets will be saved to your disk.
After the flashing, use the "restore settings to vu+" and make a restart to your box.

                  You can fine it here:

                    Re: Complete system backup image

Upon flashing it should.give you the option to restore settings and plug ins.
To be safe just ftp your mgcamd configs to your pc. Only takes a few seconds and it's good to have a backup.
