    Missing channels

Put a new satellites.xml file in my VU+Duo and re-scanned Hotbird, but for some reason RAI 1,2 and 3 are not being shown, anyone any ideas why ?
    Thanks.

    Re: Missing channels

Have you tried using a premade channel list?
Or you could just copy and paste them into your bouquet.
    See if that works.

      Re: Missing channels

I never use premade channels or bouquets I just do a rescan every now and then, I looked up the parameters on king of sat and did a rescan of that transponder and it found the channels. I always presumed that the latest .xml file would be good but it seems it's not always so , took it as gospel before.

        Re: Missing channels

Does VU+ Duo supports blind scan? If you scan the channels with Blind scan it will find you all the new channels as well as the the ones which have frequencies changed. I love this little utility which many boxes don't support.

            Re: Missing channels

That will be the difficult way. Blind Scan does everything for you. You can delete all the existing channels and just press ok on Blind Scan. Get a cuppa and when come back the scanning would be completed and you will have all your channels back. No need to put frequencies manually or use a ready made list, unless you want to ignore some channels and scan only selection.

              Re: Missing channels

Unfortunately the VU+Duo doesn't support blindscan, but I had always assumed that someone was updating the .xml file from satellites.xml.eu which is supposed to have all new transponder details and that simply copying a new.xml file would take care of any freq/symbol tate/FEC changes. Obviously I was wrong.

Thats the fisrt wrong thing i have heard about VU+. I always thought as they would support Blindscan. I am surprised how have they missed on this utility.
You would just need to keep yourself updated on the forum about the new channels or one of the popular websites would do the job.

According to the users "king of sat" gets updated regularly and better than "lyngsat".

                  hi

I agree with microchick: I also find king of sat the best and mostly very up to date ; very important to check: Standard - Modulation - Symbol Rate - FEC (often the frequency stayed the same but other 'values' change). If you really are missing certain channels: check them and change manually - best to delete the TP first, than change it and then rescan.

                  Good luck.

                    Re: Missing channels

If your box have short memory then better to delete the transponder first otherwise easy enough to just update the parameters on the exixting transponder, just to save time.
