backup files

hi i was wondering when i put a new image on and i then backup my box with all my favourets is there any way to put them in without having to rescan all sats again.

Yes juekra is correct. In dreambox edit receive files from stb. Save on your pc and then when you need to, just open the file in dreamboxedit, send files to stb, reload settings, restart stb and you're done!

thanks for your replies if i was to put it on a usb stick would i just put it in the box and it would automaticly load them in or would i have to run through something else.

hi back again i think i might not have explained myself properly i am using blackhole173 so on my pc useing dcc i make a backup file then when i load 174 and reload my backup of 173 it says success then when i go to my favouretes like say cannel action on thor its not named so i have to rescan the sat then it puts the name in so i can use them on that sat then i have to do this on every sat to get all my favourets in.

If you are using BlackHole 173, you have 2 options built into the image to backup and restore settings.

1. Menu --> BlackHole Personal Backup

This will backup settings, favorites, plugins, cams, bootlogos, etc. etc.
Update your BH image, then restore your personal backup as above.

or

2. Menu --> Setup --> Software Management --> Backup System Settings

This will backup your settings files to HDD or USB (wherever you have set backup location).
Update your BH image, then run
Menu --> Setup --> Software Management --> Restore System Settings
