    Bouquet/channel list help

    Hi all
So I bought a Vu+ Duo a couple of weeks ago.
I played around with some channel lists and settled with catseyes.
I did loads of editing on dreambox edit and got it how I like it, loaded it to my stb, and the next day a new list was released.
Is there any way of just updating the bits that have changed so I don't have to do all that editing again?
Can I do it via the stb, if so how?
    Or can it auto update?
I really don't want to spend all that time editing the latest release.
I have a motorised system, am I right in thinking that the Vu+ only has a 10 000 channel memory?
There are loads more channels on the motorised catseye bouquet so loads of editing is required?

    Thanks for your help

Right, so after doing a bit of reading I believe I have to update the satallite xml file.

I have edited a catseye bouquet and am using that on my stb. If I download the latest catseye bouquet, open the folder and repalce the xml file in the old one with the new one.
Can I then send it to my stb, hopefully keeping my bouquet settings as I have edited them, and it should have the new xml in it?
Can I do it that way?

    Re: Bouquet/channel list help

Someone correct me if I am wrong. The xml file is just for the the different sats and transponders and that wont update a channel if it has a change. I now produce my own list and it is very easy to keep up to date and I only have the channels I want.

    Hope this helps nml

      Thanks nml.
I have used the catseye bouquet and edited out what I don't want. All I want to do now is to be able to update my edited version when there has been a change. How do I do this?
      Thanks

I check for any changes on updste sites such as Lyngsat, so if a channel has changed transponder search that transponder for the channel and edit your favourites list.
If a new transponder either add it and search as before or get an up to date xml.
I think that you will find once you have got used to it it is the best way.
Channel lists are great particulary catseye but always you have channels you dont want.
Nowadays I start from scratch and only search the satellites-transponders that I want, it is a lot of work initialy but well worth it.

          Re: Bouquet/channel list help

thats the best way to go, just enter the sats/ chns/ tps for the actual chs you require, saves all the junk entering box if you scan, a lot of time but best in the end.
i have sats with just couple chns i view.

            hi all

I know most of you do manual scans, but I prefer to do complete/auto/blindscan. This depends on the sats and the box (max. channels) you have, but in my case I still have enough place to do so. Advantage is you always have the lastest - complete - list (ok, sometimes the S/R changes within the same freq, and have to check this also manually). The channels which are not interesting for me I leave in the global channel list (if I remove them, they will surely be back again next 'scan'), the others I put in the favouritlists.

I have an edited mix of several bouquets that I use as my template.
Every now and then I just download the latest bouquets, copy and paste the channels I watch across and that's it.
It's pretty easy for me as I mostly watch sports and movies. Only takes about 10 minutes.
