My Vu+ Duo experience so far

Had my Vu+ Duo for 4 days now. Don't get much time to play on it but I'm getting bits done a step at a time.

    Hard drive installed easy enough.
Plugged it all in and bbc1 came on straight away. initialized the hd and recorded a fta channel with no problems.
Timeshift works as well with no problems.
I just looked around the menu a bit, getting to know the receiver before trying anything to ambitious.
Ccam 2.1 was installed as well as Tspanel so I didn't have to do much.
Then went on to Vucc and how to enter lines. Had a bit of a hassle finding my ip address but got there eventually by going into network test. Once it was completed I scrolled to the edit button and Voila, there it was.

Installed dcc, got it all up and running and stuck a cline in.
Pressed the blue button and selected cccam and there it was!
Couldn't believe it. A bit glitchy, but at least I now know how to enter lines and watch them.

I also uploaded an edited Channel list via DCC, cutting all the fat, such as the 50 odd regional bbc channels. Found it very easy to do.

I have also discovered that Opentv works much better than Rytec on the epg. I was only getting now and next until I changed to opentv. Now I get full 7 day epg.

I have an installer coming around on Sunday to put my motorised dish in, then the fun begins!
    So relieved.
Thanks to all that have helped me so far, you're all diamonds.

bokkie I think that I speak for us all by saying helping was a pleasure and thank you for your kind words, the great things about this hobby are helping other people and learning yourself. I encouraged you to try some things because it is a world of discovery. Fantastic news about the new dish and now the world of sat opens up for you.

Welcome to the world of Linux.

    Kind regards. nml

Bookie, glad to hear your all setup, got mine all up and running, sly uk working fine just the odd stutter in the streams, what I find strange is if i reboot the box stuttering is gone for sometimes hours before it returns. Not sure if its my broadband or something I have not setup 100% on the box itself.
      All fun and games.

It is all fun and games isn't it! A lot to learn in the world of Linus based stb's!
Can't wait to get my motorised dish to be installed next week, then I can have some real fun.
Time to start hunting the sports channels for a bit of rugby. Can't wait!
