epg and channel list help.

Hi all. Had my vu+ duo for a couple of days, lovely piece of kit.
can somebody help me to get channel list with same setup as sky.
Ie: 101 is bbc1, 401 is sky sports 1, etc.? It is currently in alphabetical order with loads of channels i don't want.
Also, how do i setup the epg to work like sky? At the moment when i push epg it fills the whole screen and only shows now and next. Can i not get it as a small info bar like sky?
I am running the latest blackhole 1.7.2.
Haven't really got much time to play about, between work, wife and kids.....
Help is really appreciated.

Hi firstly when you have channel list open press blue this should open up the favourites if any have been created , these if they have been added sould have different sections Movie etc click on the it and you should get a list of channels per satellite delete what you dont want or create your own favourites and add whatever you want.
In theory you could get the same numbers as you had by making the first 100 channels the ones that you dont want. Not worth the effort though because to get the numbers you want you would have channels that you dont want to get the numbers that you want. Does that make sense
Seriously create your own with a channel editer look in the tools section and after a while you will think why did i put up with channels all over the place.
With regard to epg have a read through some posts on them and decide what you want and if you need help ask. Everyone will have a different opinion so try a few out.

Is there not a channel list i can download that has channels sorted in the same order as sky? Have to make it missus proof ;)
Why is my epg only showing now and next, an idea?

UPDATE:

Been doing some reading, apparently dreambox edit is what i need.
Silverfox channel list is also supposed to be good because picons are already there. Picons are the little logos in the top corner aren't they?
Guess i'll just trim the list down and dump the rest somewhere else or delete them altogether. Like the 50 odd bbc1 and bbc2 channels.

Perfect bokkie keep trying different things linux boxes are great but you have to decide exactly what you want them to do the experiment, you won't regret it and having your own custom channel list is great.
