Hi all. I've finally got my Clone Duo, now need to get a hdd.
Is it correct that th 3.5" hdd fits the duo? Is there a maximum hdd staorage that I can use?
I was looking at a 1.5 tb, will it be ok?
Can't wait for me Duo to arrive now :)

    Re: HDD for Vu+ Duo

You can use a 3.5" or a 2.5" HDD in an original Duo, and a 1.5TB HDD is also fine in an original duo. You've bought a clone, so can't say for sure. Hopefully you should be ok.

I presume you guys with the 2.5" drives in there duo's have them on adaptors, As the official cradle only supports 3.5" the Uno & Ultimo support both 2.5" and 3.5" without any adaptors.

Get a 3.5" and make sure its a 5400rpm this is the speed of what most pvr's use and also the most popular is Seagate & Western Digital although i have a samsung in mine.

              I have a 7200 1 tb hitachi deskstar. Should i change it?
Why is 5400 rpm better? Is it because of heat generation, power consumption.......
Don't really want to change it if i can avoid it.
Can anyone recommend a hard drive?

                Hi Bokie,

You wont have any problems with the 7200rpm one the only reason why PVR's have 5400rpm is due to noise and heat issues as you can imagine some of the PVR insides are pretty tight and very little room.

Dont worry mate there is plenty enough room in the Duo you should not have a problem.

                Regards
