Yes I was also looking at this receiver.
There is a company in Huddersfield that has them for £190. Can anyone recommend them as I want to get one.

I will not name the forum member but this was his post from around a couple of weeks ago, this should answer your question and by the way this is not the first time this has happened be warned.

""just giving the heads up on a supplier from huddersfield called aspleysatellite.
bought a box from him a week ago. arrived dented in transit and worked for aprox six hours then stopped with tuner failure.(done lots of tests and its deffinately knackered).

after a week of emailing him there has been no response apart from one email asking me to check my gmail which ive never used so dont know why he just hasnt sent it to the email address i used to contact him.

i know he uses this forum and for one am amazed he still able to trade with this attitude.his site boasts 12 month guarantee which he is in breech of contract.

£200 is a fortune to me so wont just lay down.i will get some satisfaction from this.

i know of others with problems who also are getting no responses so its not an isolated insident.

my advise for anyone thinking of buying from him is DON'T DO IT please, you will waste your money""

        I read something similar.
Apparently they've changed names several times as well, thus avoiding honoring of warranty, etc.

I sent an email to aspleysatellite today, 2 emails about wether the vu+ duo box has tuner failed issues, No Response.

and 1 email about whether it works with sky mini dish, got a response, yes.

I had tuner failed issue recently with my dm800 which had eardatek tuner which I recently purchased from dreamboxbest china, thats why I emailed.

            Re: vu duo clone.

I bought my clone duo off ebay a couple of weeks ago.
Paid slightly more than if i bought from china, but he's a uk seller, box came preloaded and ready to run, and everytime i've emailed him, i've been answered within an hour.
more than happy with the service i've received. If you want more details, just pm me.

i have had issues with glitching and freezing, but i've put that down to the server.

No trouble with them, i get them with no problems.
although for some reason 5 hd doesn't clear.
not much of a loss there though.:)

                      Re: vu duo clone.

Bokkie there are tutorials on other sites and despite the fact that they are a bit anti clones, as I understand it they function just like the real thing. Some images are easier to get on with than others due to remote control button mappings I would try and see how you got on with the image the box comes with before you leap in, then try other images. I have use PLI VTI Blackhole and VIX.The hand book with an original obviously refers to the default software and when you change image the handbook is almost redudant. I'm sure you'll get plent if help if you need it but it really isn't that difficult to get to grips with and most of us are still learning !

5HD is encrypted and needs either a White Viewing card or subscription.

So could i get a sky card off fleabay and use it in my vu+?
I currently have a sky subscription and would be great if i could use a card in the duo to clear channels.

You can get one from S*y for £25, but as you say, you could get on from a well known auction site for less.......

Why not just use the subscription card in the duo there is nothing illegal about that.

Unfortunately, for all the good things about vu+, dreambox, etc.
They can't quite match sky+ hd box for series link, ease of use, (wife proof) etc.
That's the only reason I've still kept the basic sky package.
