    Which receiver is the best?

    Hi,

Any recommendations, as I currently have a spiderbox, but am interested in getting a second one to act as a good server etc.
I am looking at the TM800HD.
Anyone has this box and if so, any issues with it?
    Please advise.
    Cheers.

Re: Which receiver is the best?

I'm thinking of a TM800HD myself. Already got a TM600 which is good, but HD is so much better.

Only drawbacks to the Technomate receivers is the software support. Hopefully that will change soon though, I read somewhere that they are going to release it to the public. No idea for sure when that will be though.
    Technomate TM600 + 1m motorised dish (TM2300 motor).

      Hi Tony,

Yeah, I have read about the support, or lack of it.
Are you going to wait until this gets resolved?
I believe the ones you can buy now does not have the full software yet.
I think I will be patient and see what happens over the next few months.
Thanks for your input - much appreciated.

I have the same problem, I love my spiderbox but it is a pain you cant use it as cccam server, The newcamd server only allows for 10 which is next to useless. I have a standalone server which costs me £25 a month and i cant put locals on it as its in Belgium. It does however have a gigabit pipe.
But people are reluctant to share when your local card is 1 hop away. So i too have decided to invest in a second box. I dont mind if its not HD as i will connect the spiderbox to it. So i am currently looking into the cheapest option with the best software. I will post back when i have put together a good list.

        Regards,
        Sporting.

          Hi Sporting,

I am curious about this standalone server...could you not get one locally or is that just too expensive?
Also, how exactly does connecting another box (not HD) to your spiderbox work?
Are you going to use the second box as your server alone and the spiderbox as the client?
Looking forward to seeing what cheap options you come back with.
          Cheers.

If you don't care about HD on the server itsself, why not a dreambox 500 ? You have very cheap chinese modesl, and this box is very stable. If it is just to have CCcam runing 24/7 I think it could be enough

Without doubt go for dreambox 500.

                Hi,

Since the dreambox 500 is not HD, what is the next upscale from this receiver?
I have heard that I can use this non-HD box through my existing HD box (Spiderbox 9000HD), but I am not entirely sure how this is done.
Can someone please help me out?
                Cheers.
