Ferguson Ariva 102e HD - pvr ready?

My Ferguson Ariva 102e HD crashed before I was able to test the pvr-function.
I sent it back (money back) but I'm not sure to buy a new one because it is written on it that it has no pvr-function?!

I used (for a short time untill it crashed) the patched software 1.22b5.
My question is if the avira 102 with this software has the pvr-function to record via usb to a connected hd?

OK, then I believe in this function, but in germany it's a bit strange because on the manual it's written that this function does not work on 102e receivers in germany!
      Perhaps a licence problem here?!

          Why that?
When I connect a hdd or an usb-stick the receiver will write a ts-file with the video and audio stream, or am I wrong?
And this ts-file can be watched with vlc or equal players.

If the channel is cripted, you can't Watch on PC, but only via ariva. IS a protection system

I see, you're right. The fta channels can be watched via vlc and other media players, the original encrypted channels (which were e. g. decrypted via cs) are written encrypted to usb-medias.

Is there a known program/possibility to decrypt them and watch them via pc?

so take care about pvr label on the box !

pvr ready : able to record

                - on hard disk ? yes
                - local ?
                - usb ?
                - remote ?
                - samba ?
                - nfs ?

                in ts format:
                - undrypted ?
                - crypted ?

-> what a jungle to buy one !
is the salesman really acquainted of all of this ?
                at money back garantee ?

so we need to make it clear before buying between:
                - the pvr as pvr-to-clear-ts-crypted and
                - the pvr as pvr-to-clear-ts-clear

and even further more, subject local (national) legals ...
