    Ferguson Ariva 102e HD

    Hello,

I'm looking for a cheap second receiver for a guest room.
I know there are lots of recommandations here so my choise will be (at the moment) the Ferguson 102e hd as a client-receiver. Price here: ~60 Euros at the moment (seems ok).
I have still a few questions about this receiver after a lot reading.

Cccam is included in the software (when the news are correct). Does the receiver have an own cccam.cfg, prio and the cccam webinterface like other linux-receivers and allow 3 or 4 working clines simultan? I ask because I've heard about receivers which can only handle one cline.
If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!

I have an ariva 150 but the fw are similiar.
cc * am is not included in the original fw, but it is easily available fw patch.
in this box you can put 4 different clin*s from usb and from webinterface.
Unfortunately it is not possible to insert prio files, but also it manages channel changing very quickly.

      hi Satphoenix

I've read a bit on this box (without knowing it personally), seems good, only read something about crashing after 2 hours when using cccam and wifi not stable - but these were older posts, so perhaps solved meanwhile (firm) - I suggest you do some more googling in case there are no more usefull tips here.

      On the other hand: 62 isn't a live-threatening risk

I think they are isolated problems, never had these problems. works very well, maybe have the list is not easy, but it does what it needs to do.

These problems should have appeard when the server used a cccam vers. 2.14 or higher (written in another forum).
I tried yesterday and had no problems, so I can't confirm. Perhaps the problem is solved in newer software.

But now there are a few more questions - perhaps someone here knows the answers:

What cccam is integrated in the patched firmware or/and how can I check it?
And is it possible to use the cccam-webinterface for informations about connection and answered ecms?

on the web interface can only control the cline, or set other cam, nothing else.

...but as it seems a very worthless...

Yesterday I tried to put a new software (the official from the ferguson homepage) on the reciever via usb.
No problem while flashing but then the receiver turned off, made a reset and now I have "ASH" in the display and that's all.
Eprom/flash failure seems to be the reason, receiver dead.

Does anyone had the same problem and a possible rescue suggestion or is the receiver for the dustbin?

                Dear Satphoenix!

I think you don't have to throw it to the trash. You can upgrade that software with the help of a PC. You will need an 'Upgrade tool software' and you will have to connect your receiver to the PC with an Rs232 cable. Then you can upgrade your receiver by your PC ( use windows xp). I think it will help.

                Best regards,

                bakfitty

The Cable is null-modem or normal? Because on dm500 is null-modem, and if you wrong is big issue.

                    I think it's null-modem cable.

I've also heard that a nullmodem cable is required. I've orderd a connector (normal rs232 to nullmodem) and hope it will work. Yesterday I could only test with a normal cable without success.

By the way, do I have to upgrade the complete 8 MB OS to the box?

Normal Cable could burn the head of Connector, waring.
Yes 8 mb to the box

                          Dear Satphoenix!

Be careful if you upgrade it with a connector (rs232 to nullmodem). If you do it that way I guess you wanna do it with a laptop. Normal PC would be better. It is strongly recommended to have windows xp on your computer, because win7 or win 8 is less reliable and this may cause problems during the upgrade process.

My only chance is my xp-laptop with "usb to rs232 connector" and a cable with the ordered nullmodem switch. With this connection I was able to connect to my other receivers (DBOX2 and Humax), but only with normal seriell, not nullmodem.

@filicart, what do you mean with "burn the head of connector"?
