    Spiderbox F100 Fault & TIP42 Repair

I have the F100 fault on a Spiderbox 9900 searched the forums all over and tried to flash and have now soldered a new TIP42C but still F100 is displayed Any other ideas or fixes? I'm a bit lost now

    Thanks

Did you use Spiderbox HD9900 recovery tool then reload the latest patch this is a very common fault but seems to be more with the HD9900 then any other spiderbox

The recovery tool does not seem to work very well on the 9900, most of the reports
I have read seem to have resulted in failure, you might try sending a PM to jimihendricks on the A---t forum to ask for his help.

The F100 fault just means it stuck in boot mode but the HD 9900 seems to have less of a success rate with the recovery tool than any other spiderbox box you could try under warranty but i do not think you will have much luck after you have been soldering inside the box

          hi

I can only refer to my experience with the F100 fault (no spider, but seems to be the same = boot problem) - indeed some boxes have better success on the reboot, try a few times. I had 2 (as said: other) boxes, same types/soft and 1 recovery worked, on the other it didn't. Had to send it back (needed jtag reflash, which apparently can't be done yourself). You can always try under warranty

F100 is a reboot error and can sometimes be a fault with the lnb or cable, to test it unplug the receiver then remove the lnb then reboot the receiver if it works it’s the lnb if not it’s the receiver then try the recovery tool.

Normally you would unplug the lnb cable before you try the recovery tool.
