I think the main difference is the 9900 has 2 smartcard slots and 1 CI slot.
The 9000 has 1 smartcard and 2 CI.

Thank you for your fast reply.
If is the only difference I think I will go with the cheaper one.

The 9900 apparently changes and clears channels faster, and I believe they can stream *******.

Think the 9900 also has a faster processor, not sure how much faster.
just read up on it and it has an analogue tuner as well.
          Think it's worth the extra.

I will have to decide now between the 2.

it all depends what you want from a certain box, if you want to share f/lines to friends yes double card slots an cam slots would come in very handy, local cards also expensive, your choice.

Does anyone know what slots the dm800 has? Is it viaccess compatible?

DM800 has only one smartcard reader
DM800 only has one satellite tuner slot
                    DM800 has two USB ports
Yes its possible but with a bit of research.

Not sure if i'll get the dm800. All the talk of emus, etc is just confusing me. I guess it's easier to understand if you actually have a box.

Yes, this is why I decide to go for something like spiderbox, openbox, blade, etc. Dreambox and vu+ look to be very time consuming in learning how to use them. I just want to plug it in and get it going to watch tv. Not going to make it do somersalts and breakdance.

Protek is also an option. Supposed to be more stable than spiderbox.

The Ethernet gift side on the protek receivers is definitely a lot more stable as the people behind it have had a lot longer running it than the people behind the Spiderbox, if i where to choose a 'Gift' box it would be the protek also there is no expiry date.
