Update 22-09-2010 : new version of WinLIRC_0.8.7 for remote Skystar2 :

WinLIRC allows you to transmit and receive standard infra-red remote control signals. This allows you to control your computer using almost any standard infrared remote control. It also allows your computer to control other equipment which uses these signals (stereo equipment).

Bundled all the updated plugins. Ie the Serial plug-in in the previous version had a critical bug in it where the transmitter was left on. Updated plug-in are always available in the files section. Always check to make sure you have the latest version.

Skystar2 owners; Read readme.txt in skystar2 folder and just move winlirc.ini from this folder to plugins folder

I imagine that can be used with any viewer...
DBVDream, ProgDVB, etc... ¿is ok?
Because I have a SS2 and I can´t work with RC with previous WinLIRC versions.
Is USB infrared receptor, and is impossible to do anything at all.
I will try this version, perhaps I will be lucky with this application.

Guys,
This Winlirc stuff is for the old serial port compliant remotes, which are not hid(human interface device) devices.So if you have a relatively new USB stick with your hardware, then the chances are very likely that you wont need Winlirc.

Some of the more commonly used software for USB HID remote controllers are Eventghost, HIP.They are all totally free software.

- Fixed some crash vulnerabilities in the WinLIRC server. The vulnerabilities exist in all previous versions of
WinLIRC.
- Transmitting inside the program worked fine, but externally from command line or by TCP was hopelessly broken.
The sending string wasn't null terminated so it was basically fluke if it worked or crashed. Again this problem
was in all previous versions.
- Bundled two new plugins, one for the Firefly mini remote, and the other for the Microsoft MCE receiver.
- Fixed a few handle leaks in some of the plugins.
