Re: New cheap HD receiver for Card Sharing
The only DM 800 clone problem is the fan, it is cheap and sound is really loud especially if you have it into your bedroom! I've just modified one to my friend changing the fan with other better model so it most silent now.Just click on thanks button if my post has helped you

Re: New cheap HD receiver for Card Sharing
Hi all, I've tested another cheap box for cardsharing: Jepssen mediabox ST-4 HD.
I was really surprised how this box works well when ecm server time is long. It, respect to more expensives box like dream box and azbox, freezes very less! The most difficult packets (nds) was working freezes free! So I've decided to buy one of those box. Shortly I'll describe box specs:
DVB-S, S2 and DVB-T tuners built in, full HD 1080p resolution, one USB port (atm it can read all files but only on supports FAT32 formatted), serial port, HDMI, optical digital audio out, component video out, scart/rgb out, lan port, one smart card reader, one common interface slot, PVR funcions.
Anyway you can read complete specs here:

Re: New cheap HD receiver for Card Sharing
I am Italian. I bought an OpenBox S9 HD PVR and I'm happy with it. Firmware updates come out often and they add new features.
The price is around €100.
I bought it from an Italian reseller, so I have the 2 years warranty given me by the Italian laws.
I'm happy with this receiver.Comment

Re: New cheap HD receiver for Card Sharing
I would like to buy a cheap HD Linux receiver. I can't afford buying Dreambox HD due to high price. Which receiver you would suggest me?
How good is an Openbox s9?
I have heard that there is clone Openbox in market and clones will not accept official sw which kills clone Openbox receivers.Comment

It does the job and better than the price tag would lead one to expect. It is not quite as versatile as the DM800HD clone but it's cheaper.
Shame that it is not as well supported image wise as is the DM and so you are limited. Can be a bit tricky to find stuff for it and confuration is not for the novice.
It boots faster, 10-15 seconds compared to the 1 minute+ for the DM.Comment

The box supports CCcam and MgCamd; it has also an emulator for SoftCam.key and CW. It's not a linux box, so they're built into the firmware.
I bought the original OpenBox S9 HD PVR for around €100. I don't think you should go cheaper than that. Get yourself an original box and be happy with it.
The box supports HD channels and DVB-S2. The recording (which you can program) and the timeshift do work well on an external USB HDD.
I think it's the best value for its price. Of course, it's not as versatile as the DreamBox but hey, it does its job.Comment

Re: New cheap HD receiver for Card Sharing
If you are not bothered about a full linux box and just need a client box that is reliable with both cccam and newcamd then for the price both the technomate 5402 and Blade media 7000 are top notch boxes and both are more stable than spider, openbox for client use. and they both have very good support as they are identical apart from menu system boyh HD and support DVB-S2 and recording via usbComment
