as i just bought a new 3d lg tv i can say we only have channels in 1080p after so many years now, so for the 4k i bet we have to wait 2/3 year...

Depends where you live in the UK we have had 1080p broadcasts through our Aerial FreeviewHD system for many years provided by the BBC, satellite has only had 1080i due to bandwidth restrictions but i am assured $ly UK will be the first in the UK with a 4K channel tests on football matches where done last year

            I disagree with you.

The new dreambox will be compatible only with 1080p and not with 4K.

And i disagree with you also if you had done a little research on the brodcom chipset the 7080 will be using you would have found this:

BCM7251 is a system-on-a-chip (SoC) for multi-HD/UltraHD IP set-top boxes (STBs). It integrates the High Efficiency Video Codec (HEVC) or H.265 standard, which enables more UltraHD content. It also incorporates Dual Display, a feature that enables presentation of two simultaneous video channels from the same STB via independent HDMI outputs and remote control devices.

                You are right,
                I'm sorry for that.

The new 7080HD is 4K (UltraHD) compatible.
Also it is an enigma3 receiver and it will come in 2 versions, light and heavy, and corresponding price.

4K is like 3D ... all were waiting for it... but there will never really be a hype on this...

at typical TV sizes, quadruple the pixels makes no difference in picture quality and are not worth the extra price

All comes down to cost at the end of the day, the investment for broadcast companies
is high in replacing Cameras and also peripheral equipment. Still a few years down the road for regular service, unfortunately.

                            regards mobley

HD will stay the standard a long time. Many had to get new material to be able to watch hd and mpeg4
They won't do the same with 4k right away. 4k still to expensive
