Re: dvb-s2 receiver
hi malikanwer171
dvb = Digital Video Broadcasting
there are different kinds
- dvb-t = terrestrial
- dvb-c = cable
- dvb-s = satellite
- dvb-s2 = satallite, in mpeg4 - eq for hd
for watching hd-sat channels you need a dvb-s2 tuner.
a lot more info on wikipedia -
Re: dvb-s2 receiver
Normal "dvb" means mpg2 video, dvb-s2 means mpg4 video (h.264 codec) and the possibility for hd-tv. The audio is nearly the same (mp2 and ac3).
Dvb-s2 uses 8psk and qpsk transponder, dvb only qpsk.If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!Comment

Re: dvb-s2 receiver
DVB-S2 is a second gen broadcasting standard commonly used for HD services. If you intend to watch HD channels you want to get yourself a DVB-S2 receiver. If you want some background reading have a look at _http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVB-S2Comment
