I use good quality 50 ohm coax Westflex 103 and a N type connector on the positioner + a home made N to F adapter for the receiver. The difference in impedance between 70ohm and 50 ohms seems to make no difference but the low loss high quality cable works well on my long cable run.

There is a new material in developement which will offer very lightweight cables and the possibility of a using the same material as a coating on the outside of the dish. It involves a composite of silver and an unknown polymer.

For the dish it would probably only give a gain of around 5% but for the cable much more.

anyone else get greated with a bunch of bull today as most of the XM channels disappeared? and i was a week or so away from renewing it for another year....
