    The best you can get?

Since this is the Hardware section, please don't talk about receivers.
What I want is your wish list of the best LNB, Cable, Dish or whatever else you need for our hobby.
Money no object, as long as it's the best.

    Hello my friend

If money is no object, go buy a motor Dish of 3m, an LNB that costs at least 100€,
and a cable that has three layers of insulation, and you are ready for your hobby

it sounds like this bankish game (or hobby) of

how to transfer into my offshore pockets
      the money received from gogo's
      through exclusive and overpaid activities

gold cables, three layers, at least
( ... also reinforce the roof, for this extra weight )

Sounds great... did I forget to mention "Real" products?
I really wanted a 50 Metre dish grown from a single diamond crystal with a full 3d positioner and a LNB so sensitive it could detect a signal through the earths core.
But the guy in the shop keeps saying to try again next week as he was still waiting for stock.

It depends what you want to receive and do you want to go motorised?

I am in southern spain and for the cable I use Wf100 up to 40mtr runs and definitely Black ultra lnbs.
The dish is a different matter and I use 1.5, 1.25 and 1mtr Gibbertinis the 1.00is motorised and sometimes the 1.2. Perfectly adequate for what I need at the moment but this could change shortly.
As I said it depends on what you are trying to achieve.

By the way can you give me the name of the shop I want on of those dishes.

          Cheers nml

Re: The best you can get?

wf 125 is certainly better then wf100, but on short runs wont add much and if you use shotgun cable obviously it is thinner so not quite as good if you are on a longer run. As I said we need to know more about his setup and what he is trying to achieve.

Hi, not actually trying to achieve anything.
I just wanted to start a conversation about equipment. There is too much talk about receivers...
The Black ultra is a 0.2, so what makes it better than the 0.1 LNB's ?

BTW my house is near Seron if you know it.

Hi sorry for the delay in replying I am near Loja about 112 miles west of you.

I am a member of a number of forums that have a section on fringe reception and from my own experience and that of others on the fringe the Ultra always appears to come out on top and also helps if you have a long cable run. The 0.1 and 0.2 are not very accurate descriptions of an lnb's capabilities.
I have fitted one for a number of friends and it certainly does improve rain fade, but of course needs to be set up properly.
Are you set up for 28 east? if so what sort of reception are you getting and what dish size?

                  Regards nml

otherwise, cisco also proposes some higher priced class tv sat receivers

I don't know what LNB is best. I use cheap lnbfs available on the market - like GI, or even "no name" when it's over I'll buy another.
I don't know what diseqc switch is best. I use cheap diseqc switches from china about 1$ each. One burns I take another.
I don't know what motorized system is best. I don't use motors at all.
                          BUT
                          I'm absolutely sure.
The best sat cable is genuine CAVEL-703B Made in Italy with a stripe.

I suggest you first decide what you want obtain and then decide how to set up the devices.

In my opinion is nonsense installing a 3mt dish if you are not interested in receive C-band channels. A big dish, without considering cost, is hard to manage and setup. Also suffering a lot the wind effects related to a normal dish.

In any case is a good idea adopting a good cable and a low noise LNB...their cost is not so high at all.
