Quad Switch LNB vs Quattro LNB confusion

    Hi,

I'm somewhat confused here and dont now (not shure) wich to buy

Can someone explain the difference between Quad Switch LNB vs Quattro LNB.

I need an LNB that has four outputs to feed four different receivers.
There wil be also 4 DiSEqC switches installed.

What do I have to buy, Quad Switch LNB or Quattro LNB ?

Thanks in advance for you help!

Re: Quad Switch LNB vs Quattro LNB confusion

    There a 2 different lnbs:

Quad-switchLNB with integrated switch. 4 independent connections for 4 receivers. No more external switches needed.

And a Quattro LNB with 4 non-independent exits:

    Low - h
    Low - v
    High - h
    High - v

Switch needed (4to4 or 4to8) to make 4 or 8 independent connections for the receivers.

Re: Quad Switch LNB vs Quattro LNB confusion

Okay this is what I have find out after lots of reading.

Quad LNB's are the ones I need for my setup.
Quad LNB are directly connectable to Receivers or DiSEqC switches.

Quatro or Quattro LNB's are NOT directly connectable to receivers and DiSEqC switches as they are made for big distribution systems like on an bulding/appartment.

The Quatro LNB is connected to a TAP and from there connected again to another TAP as many you requires.
Also from each TAP you can connect an 16x Multiswitch/Amplifiers and has theoreticaly no limitation of outputs.

Re: Quad Switch LNB vs Quattro LNB confusion

The quad LNB provides four outputs, each capable of providing each
of the four frequency bands and polarizations.

This is like a universal LNB with four outputs.

The quattro LNB provides four outputs, each with a single
        band/polarization specific to that output.
The band/polarization available at each output is fixed
at the time of manufacture. It is not possible to switch
the band/polarization with a tone or switching voltage.

A quattro LNB is normally used to feed a large distribution system.

After that, I think it's clear that you need a quad LNB for your installation.

Here an example of what I want to do but with 4x Quad LNB's and 4x DiSEqC switches :

            Hi SatWaveDude,

You only need a DiSEqC switch if you have more than one Sat dish installed or more than one LNB on your dish, pointing at different sats.

Is that the case in the set up you are trying to achieve?

              Ok, you need 1 antenna, 4x Quad LNB's , 4x DiSEqC 4x1 switches and 4 receivers.
The connection can be done as in photo:

                @kalpikos

Yes, thats the correct diagram of the setup I want.

In fact it's a bit more complicated

I have 11 LNB's and four of them wil be the Quad LNB's

                Receiver No.1 = 16 LNB's via EMP DiSEqC Switch 16/1 PCP W3 ProfiLine Multiswitch
                Receiver No.2 = 7 LNB's via EMP DiSEqC Switch 9/1 P.168-W V2 ProfiLine Multiswitch
                Receiver No.3 = 4 LNB's via DiSEqC Switch
                Receiver No.4 = 4 LNB's via DiSEqC Switch

My only problem was that I was confused wich suitable LNB's to purchase.
But now I know that I must have the Quad LNB's for my purpose!
