    Re: motor dish turn

    mine moves from 39east > 30west,
    most motors have limiters which you can set limits to but have not tried that myself, as said my range at the moment is 70degrees,
    Do not send me iptv/cline requests,

    technical or iptv/cline server questions in PM!

    I will not answer!

      Re: motor dish turn

      The principal of a motorised system is that the dish moves from east to west to track the satellites positioned along the Clarke belt. In this method the whole of the dish is facing the satellite it is positioned at. 45 degrees West and East can be tracked from true south giving you the maximum range available before your dish is facing into the ground.

        I have android app that can check all the sats that are visible, does this mean I will not be able to get the satellites that are in the far east and the far west? btw my location is in the south east of England

          It all depends on the distance from the sattelite, foot print and beam. Which Sats particularly you want to receive?

            hi Bazinga

            As microchick said: depends on some things, also on your dish size of course - about footprints you can always ****** eg satbeams to have an idea.

              I get 45e to 30w in the south east. TBH I don't think there is much for us past about 45e.

                    All sats and all transponders? Have a look here for a dish size guide.

                      These are just some observations from installing the main popular types and there east to west limit.

                      Stab 100/120 65°-65°
                      Technomate TM2600 60°-60° due to built in limiters which can be adjusted
                      +++++++++ TM2300 same as above
                      Darkmotor Supreme 75°-75° No Limits software enabled in motor
                      +++++++ Superior Same as Above

                      I have tested others but listed the most popular.

                      Tested on my own ARC Darkmotor gave me the best as i could receive just barely 68.5° east a long time ago, am now limited to 57° east due to dish size and now using actuator.

                      The Darkmotor will reach further than any of the others but when using keep an eye out for obstructions and set limits in your box and not to rely on the motor itself

                        I do not go past 42 east very often as the dish is almost facing the ground

                          Also have to consider where the satellite dish will be situated. If it's a wall mount you might not need able to go past a certain sat before hitting the wall. Take this into consideration before testing out what sats you can get or you could have an accident.

                            And to avoid that, the best settng is pole or ground mount. Pole mount increases your range. You get a full use of your motor, browsing through all the "in range" satellites.
