Re: new Technomate with twin tuners

They're on ebay for around £280. Up till now they seemed to have very little support, but vix is now on board and have released vix 3.0 for the Tm-twin.
Think I'll wait to see what happens with gigablue quad and solo2.

Re: new Technomate with twin tuners

What advantages does this have over a TM5402HD or even a TM800HD? I understand that it is linux also but any physical features or software improvements?

The success of this box is going to be down to support so time will tell

Re: new Technomate with twin tuners

The Tm800 was a colossal flop, had major driver/chipset issues which technomate didn't address, preffering to focus on the development of the new receiver.
The fact that technomate offered tm800 owners a £150 part exchange if they purchased the tm twin speaks volumes.

Re: new Technomate with twin tuners

Tech_no_mates were popular for their sensitive tuners. They were always recommended by the installers but with the popularity of DM and VU+, they have lost it. I wonder if TM will flash back with their new box having the same tuner sensitivity and Good support?
              Who knows.....

Re: new Technomate with twin tuners

Well with the might of Vix on board and with decent specs, the Tm-Twin might just prove popular.
Might also struggle though with the likes of the Gigablue Quad and Solo2 and Duo2 coming out soon.
