Its no good reading reviews from other users as they have differing factors from yourself such as location and equipment used as well as possible interference form external souces. The only way to know is to buy one yourself and test which is exactly what i do.

If i relied on reports from other users i would either A. Buy everything or B. Buy nothing

Re: tuner sensitivity of satellite receivers.

        Hi all ..
I have testing recivers for c band and the dream 7020 HD is slitly better than the grand tripple i have buy and have both very good tuners. Blandscan Grand Tripple is 1 Mhz the dream 7020HD 2 Mhz

I can recive c band 68,5 E with almost 200 services with it.
I try to cache Thaicom 5 i have see the video from satlover on yt

Also what i read the Openbox perform good and the vantage series are the best because the signal level ends from - 25 to - 85 db !!

Only the Vantage 8000 Hd has many software problems maybe i seach later for another type of Vantage without software bugs and hangers but the tuner is exelent..
No reciver can beats the sensetivity from that tuner only the prof carts with good dvb s2 tuner ..

I have read that Dr HD receivers have excellent tuner sensitivity. One more question: what about solo2 and duo2 tuners?

                  regards

Re: tuner sensitivity of satellite receivers.

Venton HDx series receivers, equipped with Samsung tuner, seems to have a good sensitivity.

In clear conditions I can see some BADR channels on 26E that other receivers I tested are not capable to do.

All other satellites I can receive have a too strong signal or no coverage to make tests. The only signal that is on receiving treshold is BADR at 26E.

This is true. My solo2 has more sensitive tuners than my duo, and receives some transponders I couldn't before.

The true is that the Vu+solo2 has very good tuner.
Comparing it with my old dm500s, can receive more difficult channels and generally I have stronger signal on all channels.

Perhaps it is a little OT, but for your information I tried also the DVB-T (terrestrial) samsung tuner for Venton HDx receivers and I can say it is very sensitive compared to Television built in tuner.

It gives better performance also compared to dedicate (low price) DVB-T receivers i tested.
