Re: Wet LNB
Uhm...this could be even good for snow...but if it snows heavily, it could be worse...
As a matter of facts, snow can find like a bridge to cover from LNB to the dish, that's the worst at all...we saw that in these days in northern Italy.

Re: Wet LNB
You should use a Amalgum type of tape fpr joints on the connectors.
And covers on the lnb are pointless.
if you live in fringe reception areas when it rains or snows it is the rain and snow that is falling that blocks some of the signal.Comment

Re: Wet LNB
lnbs have brake surface and they dont need to special thing for protect them.
however if external layer broke maybe it need to other material like plastic or cover.Comment

Re: Wet LNB
I can confirm, wet snow (melting) on the lnb and the signal is completly down (nearly to zero).
I went to the dish, cleaned this snow from the lnb and the signal came back with the old strength.
In winter, a "plastic umbrella" is very usefull! If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!Comment

Re: Wet LNB
Fully agree with Satphoenix, wet snow always adhere to the lnb and the signal decreases significantly, and we have to clear away the snow, protection of the plastic seems effective, you only need to do a good design of the plastic casingComment

Drops on plastic bottle will cause a loss of signal. Is my post useful for you? Please press sigpicComment

Re: Wet LNB
And don't try it with heavy rain.
The rain absorbs the microwave frequencies downlinked
off the satellites, so the heavier the rain the more the absorption ...
and your signal is weaker. If You Like My Post..... Please Press the Thanks ButtonComment

Originally posted by mrbmmm, i tried to add a cutted plastic bottle on my lnb, and the signal from 98% is decreased to 87%. Maybe the plastic was too long? Now it's raining, later i'll take a pictureComment
