Amalgamating tape also suffers over time and is not the best solution, all my installs have compression 'F' connectors rated to 2bar and dipped in silicone grease with a smear on the outside for added protection.

I would certainly agree completely with you. You are obviously working in a professional capacity and would have a lot more experience in this matter, also you have the equipment necessary for these connectors. Buying the tool and the fittings to do this is not something that is practical for the masses as we are usually only talking about a few connections, and much as I would like to have the best tools for the job I find it hard to justify in my case.

Understood when you put it like that then yes the next best thing with standard F connectors is to apply Amalgamating tape.

its a damn good tip: my sistem didn't work well because the moisture under the LNB... i discover it after a pointless war against dish, cable, box... -_-

I watched your photos and they are very interesting to avoid rain impact. Cheap and easy. But I suggest you use amalgamated tape to isolate your lnbs from weather changes to avoid corrosion inside F connectors.

since there is different brands of the co-exile cable, i think we need to pay attention to the quality of the cable and its impedance.
impedance is the internal resistance created by the current flow. this resistance
can lower down the signal specialty if the distance is long.

I doubt it very much they could be platinum plated and it would still read the same as standard steel ones, the only reason for the gold plating is to protect against oxidisation and thats it.
