What do you mean by garden mount? I have mine on a pole, does that suffice?

Do you need planning permission for having it on the wall garden side or front of house side?

I think a 1.1m dish would be perfect, would give you the power to pick up anything if you can get it.

If it's mounted on a pole in your garden, no planning permission is required,
But if it's on the wall/roof of your house you need planning permission for a dish larger than 1 metre.
That's what the law states, but you could probably get away with a 1.1 metre dish.
Depends on what your neighbors are like.

unless you have a real problem with you neighbours it should be fine to put up what size dish you want on the house just check with them and see

The planning permission law is still not clear because if you are from a different background then you can have a bigger dish to receive other satellites to have access to your country of origin news and media. Its the European law. The councils are not very clear about it.

I replaced my funky 95cm dish with a triax td110 ,never could get amos at 4W but now i can get Amos 50+ chs .
A Td110 with black ultra lnb works very well.

There have been dish calculators around, but they are at best inaccurate and speculative and the further you are from the published footprint, the less accurate and more speculative they are.

They are not as so accurate, In my case I am out of the footprints of Hotbird according to satbeam, but I am catching from this sat about 75 % channels.

The published footprint pictures are calculated for an average lnb (normal cables ...).
So it's perhaps a bit pessimistic for todays equipment.

If you use better hardware and a more sensitive tuner you will get better results.

Yes 90-100 works for me and gets me all the mainstream stuff at an acceptable size...

90 cm is the most suitable size of the dish for a flat

I think that it's not only the hardware or the sensitivity of a tuner that can make the diference.
The real fact is the quality of the dish.
I have seen a big dish (1.40cm) to lose by a 1.00cm smaller one
Why?
Because the smaller one was a very good quallity dish of a famus brand and the bigger one was a cheap dish, no name of course.
In order to get signal I had to push up the holder of lnb
so, we don't have to look only the size, but the quality too.
