I started out with a SAB Explorer CISC, which I upgraded to a Golden Media Spark Reloaded. I'm really pleased with this receiver, eventhough I know that I haven't yet exploited it to its full potential.
The Spark firmware misses some features for example Freesat EPG, but that's made up for with the capability to dualboot Enigma2. The new HDMU images work really well!

    hi

First one was a Humax HD (2000), then got a protek and now also added an mvision.
The more I read here, the more I have the feeling I'm missing something as a DB or a VU+. Problem is the wife, so have to wait for an uncertain time ...

I remember my elder brother had an anologue receiver (Winersat) with a 6 feet dish. It was upgraded to 8 feet and a digital receiver (Humax), Then it was upgraded to Fortecstar.
My first receiver was a skybox as a Free2view. Upgraded to a Ecolink CI plus. Upgraded to a SKy+HD (Free2View). Recently bought a Cheapo Openbox S11 on ebay just for fun. I wish i had started earlier. Its good fun!!

I had a lot of decoders, the first very important to me was the TMX 7030 CI & Viaccess Seca with whom I shared my first experiences with the SAT, then there was the greatest of the receiver past the Humax 5400 , that is when I experienced my best experience, you do not think I could get rid of, I use it and are still convinced that will last for many years. After these I used the Digital 4100 CI, then it was the turn of the various Opticum 4000 TSCR, TSCX, TSCX and 4100, then I went to the Clarke-Tech HD 5100-c.
This arrangement suits me fine and I have no aspiration to anything else - at present, except for a gift that I have done recently that I believe will give me great satisfaction, I prefer not to list it in my description until I have the full control of it.

Lol @ toby. I was answering your question about how i got on with sky. I was asking if you were referring to my sky broadband which i've gotten rid of, as i posted a question about broadband on here a while.ago
I was going to get a spiderbox 9000, but went with vu+ duo instead.

Do you mean the broadband ?
Well i had virgin media broadband installed on friday and well impressed.
Advertised speed is 20 meg an i'm getting 19.5 meg.
compare that to sly's advertised 20 meg and was only getting about 8 meg.
I'm off on holiday on thursday, when i come back i'm going to get it all running sweet as a nut.

I think it's doubtful i'll receive anything on 7w as i am looking at a td88, which should just bring 26 e in.
What receiver do you have toby?

After 10 years of paying $ky's rip off prices, i bought ny first linux receiver, a vu+ duo clone.
Then a week and a half ago i had a motorised dish put up, now i see what this is all about.
I started off saying i was just going to buy a receiver and watch the telly but i've already found myself tinkering with the box. Trying new images, etc. I'm getting hooked.
also already planning on getting a bigger dish so i can get 26e and hopefully 7w.

sure you can use for cccam protocol plugin called Hadu, for newcamd, cccam, camd35, radegast, gbox can use Acamd, for softcam keys Vplug.
There is quite more of these plugins like WinCSC, csc...
but i'm using first three stated and I'm really satisfied with them.

My first was an FTA receiver from Media Markt (I don't remember the name...), but soon - within a week - I sent it back and bought my beloved Humax 5400. It was my first introduction to .bin files and firmware flashings.
Now i am a proud owner of a Dreambox 7025 and a Dreambox 800, both genuine. They are interconnected through a Powerline pair in the house and run separate servers.
I will soon change the 7025 for another 800, due to the HD channels.
