how to test/identify null modem cable db9 ??

i have a serial female cable, but i dont know if its a null modem or a db9 ? i tryed to flash wiith it but was unable to detect dreambox with it.

i tried on 2 computers with a rs232-to-usb convertissor. but nothing worked

dreamup is freezed at "connection prepared, now switch on the dreambox"

and the worst thing is i was flashing pli image manually after ftp transfer to "tmp" folder" and stay frozen, after that i reboot and i have a black screen

According to the scheme and an ohmmeter check your cable connection.

You tried a different USB TO RS232 CONVERTER / USB TO RS232 ADAPTER or another driver for this device?

my computer detect the usb device and add a new com port that i select but it doesnt work

i explain my probleme here
