    SkyTech Flat KU Dish Antenna
The Flat satellite antenna comparing with the dish antenna:
    Receiving satellite signal efficiency high.
The Efficiency of dish antenna is less than 70%, but The Efficiency of Flat antenna is over than 85% Smaller volume, lighter weight.
The height of flat is less than 500mm.
The Longitude requirement is lower, for any badly weather.
    More easy installation and transportation.
    Not easy distortion and rust.
Use life is longer, it can up to 15years.

How does this exactly work? Where does the lnb go? Or does the dish act as a LNB?

Im not sure about this because it seems that its designed to gain a very strong signal on a certain transponder but will give poorer signal strength elsewhere...Its range must be smaller purely because its surface area is smaller regardless of how intense the signal is. If anyone has any experience with this, it would be nice to hear.

It is the LNB. I'd suggest that it is only really suitable for reception of the main satellite for your area (i.e. strong signals)!

Looks like a few of you from the UK cannot remember might be a bit too young but when i first started installing anyone remember BSB (British Satellite Broadcasting) with the 'Squarial' used D2mac decoders for around 15 channels at the time which was direct competition for astra @ 19 east when Sky first started out.

Argh the good old days LOL:-)

These antennas are usually much more expensive than parabolic. price is around 150€. I do not see any advantage. Multifocus is also impossible.
Is my post useful for you? Please press sigpic

I read some threads on Russian satellite forums. People say such antennas are weaker than even 60 cm dish, most popular in Russia for watching НТВ+ and Триколор. The benefit declared was an ability to install it indoor near window, on the glazed balcony etc.
