It is better to spend more money to dish then to look for best LNB.

Someone say best LNB is bigger dish, and that is true.

There are many LNB and almost all are very good.

also you should choose a LNB with low noise factor the best is 0.1 dB

@zoran89 : not always true.i live in west germany and i have a 120 cm no name dish.i can get almost all the channel on Nilesat 7w.i have made a test between sevral LNBs and i found that The inverto Black Ultra brings more signal quality.

@anacondama : indeed the Black Ultra has a very low noise LNB.the problem that "Advertising" is everywhere.that's why i am asking if somone tested another good LNB

OK you bought The inverto Black Ultra and now you whant us to say it is good LNB, it is good but others are also good, that INVERTO Black Ultra is 0.2 dB not 0.1 db

No angry but I do not believe that you test couple LNB same day on same fixed dish so you can give us reliable result.

For my experience Inverto are really good for their cost. I think one of best choice if you don't wanna spend much and have a good quality LNB. Noise figure is important, but trust me, many LNB producers writes low numbers like noise figure but are not true. The best LNB can be Swedish Microwave are professional LNB but cost is really high and for our purpose we don't need this kind of LNB. Black Inverto is good compromise between quality and cost, I've installed many in my installation and never replaced one until now. Just protect it well into plug using a good gum tape like 3M Scotch 23.

LNB quality depends from many factors. Just noise figure means nothing. One LNB is a device formed by 2 foundamental circuits: one is the converter that converts the original band frequency received by the little antenna inside from 10,700 - 11.700 and 11.700- 12.750 to Ghz to 950 - 2050 Mhz. To do this there is a circuit name local oscillator into your LNB, one of parameters to valute a good LNB is how stable is this oscillator. Second circuit is the amplifier, this has a gain (around 50-60 db) and a noise figure (0,8 - 0.1).
The noise figure is referred to gain, so you can have 2 LNBs one with gain of 50 db and noise figure 0,1 and another with 60 db with 0.2 noise figure. In this case is much better the second one because has a gain 10 db more and just 0,1 noise figure more. This means you've a gain of 9,9 db more then first LNB. Last thing, all LNBs reports "typical noise figure" this means it isn't the maximum noise figure of LNB but just the media from higher to lowest noise.
If you buy a professional LNB like Swedish Microwave, it comes with a graphic of LNB test and you'll see the noise figure mesured by all range. Those LNB are sold with value of Max. noise figure, this means if you buy one of those LNB marked with S/N of 0.7 db, that this is the worse perfomance you can have into spectrum work range. It is much more different by typical noise figure!

I have INVERTO Quad Black Ultra. After 1 month the first INVERTO Quad Black Ultra was check. From garantie I have got new one. This lnb works with out problems over 8 month very good.

There realy is no point of buying better and more expensive LNB, you realy could get 0.5-1db and that is not much, while with 10cm biger dish you could get 2-3db.

@brahms I see you have 120cm dish, realy there is no point of buying 1.5m dish it is too expensive and you will not get everything you whant, and if you are sattelite enthusiast you shuld buy or made 2.5-3m dish, then you would have lot of staff, but this is expensive.

you are right specially that i couldn't put a dish more than 120 cm where i live now.i hope only that the new Nilesat 201 will be at least receivable like the old 101 and 102 since all channels will move there .

If you're in Germany like your flag shows, you've no chances to receive nilesat 201, this is the footprint of satellite, and it covers just middle east.

You cant go far wrong with the INVERTO Black Ultra. As others have stated above LNBs are available rated at 0.1db compared to 0.2db of the Inverto Black Ultra. But for quality 0.1db LNBs prices start to rocket. Here in the UK you can pickup a new Inverto Black Ultra for between 20 to 30 pounds. (ebay is a good source for the best prices).

For price and performance the Inverto Ultra Black is a solid investment. Of course there are other factors which affect signal quality as well which mustn't be overlooked. You can spend your hard earned cash on new LNBs and neglect dish alignment and cable quality and you are no better off!
