Re: what's the best LNB ??

Having used quite a number of LNB's over the years on a 1Mtr dish.( Invacon, Smart, MTI Blue Label and Darkgold. I have found the Inverto Black Ultra Twin, ( I always buy twin Lnb ) to be the best all round. I fitted mine shortly before the new Bird was launched to 16E and it certainly gave a good signal boost on the weaker transponders. Some of the others may perform better on certain frequencies but I do not think that you would be disappointed with the Inverto. Play around with the position in the Lnb holder to optimise the signal.

my inverto black ultra single lnb broke down a month ego. I bought an cheap "inverto eco" lnb. when using black ultra, I was receiving a frequency with 300-400 BER with no frezes. after buying inverto eco I get fluctuating 5000-9000 BERs and that caused frezes. all these was the results after a precisely aligned dish and lnb. in addition to its low gain results, stability of inverto eco lnb was very bad compared to black ultra. when using black ultra BER rates were fluctuating between a low difference values. I get similar results from many tps. and again I bought a new black ultra and get the frequencies without freezes. I receive many frequencies just above freezing limit. if I werent using black ultra , I wouldnt watch these channels due to freezes.

I use a interstar twin 0.2dB for over a year now picks up weak signals ok no real problems

I use LNB Amiko TWIN 0.1db, works fine and is cheap.

That's probably because the Inverto 'eco' LNB is the budget range of LNB made by inverto you will be hard pressed to find an LNB that matches the Black Ultra

I replaced my blueline 0.3 with a black ultra i would say on the weaker sats it helped also my dark motor moves in 1/10th of a degree increments which helps optimize the signal.
Overall for all intent and purpose the cheap blue line was good enough on almost all satellites i can receive.

just set up a Inverto Universal Monoblock for astra and hotbird for a m8 very strong signals from a triax 80cm dish

I use alsat's darkgold lnb. Good price at £19.40 for a low noise (0.1) lnb... and seems to work great...

Thats one hell of a rip off price as well, I would take the Low Noise figure with a pinch of salt as these are quoted in optimal environments, as in you would need to live in the North pole at something like -60° to reach that (0.1) noise figure

Re: what's the best LNB ??

The low noise figures quoted for most current LNB's is optimistic to say the least and even if they were capable of achieving these figures it would probably only be at one frequency as the gain is not linear across all of the frequency range, consequently some people would find that their .3db LNB might perform better than a lower figure one on the channels they watch most because the transponder they are on happens to be where the peak is on the LNB. Also certain LNB's seem to work better on certain Dishes.

                        Regards Mobley3

all noise speculations 0.5 to 0.1 are not measurements

lot of people agree with inverto black ultra, is good for low signal TP's
for good and strenght signal it's not recommended to use those lnb's, then you should use some +/-0,6dB

Yes they are very good, I used one for a number of years, and like most professional Lnb's they are very stable and also consistent across the frequency range. They are also quite heavy by modern standards and usually at least twice the price of more recent designs and that along with the " Magical " noise figures quoted for newer models has left them sidelined as they do not have the ultimate performance that is demanded today by most people.
