Re: what's the best LNB ??

I am still using an old 0.5db LNB and still going strong.

Not the size that matters but the way you use it.

Inverto Black Ultra is the best for the money. Comes very highly recommended and is affordable too.

For the price, inverto black ultra. Though the dish size is much more important.

i can only say that the best way to improve the signal is to take a bigger dish .
          the bigger the better.

Whatever the shape of your dish, its size is key to its operation. This determines how much of the weak signal from the satellite is gathered for the LNB. If insuffi cient signal is collected then it can’t produce the picture on your screen.

Simply electronically amplifying the signal will just amplify the noise received too, so that doesn’t work. There’s no substitute for more signal from a bigger dish. Dishes are usually sized by their diameter – but they are rarely circular, so the fi gure can be confusing if you are not comparing dishes of the same shape.

Every centimetre of diameter counts; a dish need only be about 40 per cent wider to produce twice the signal; a 1.2m dish will give nearly 50 per cent more signal than a 1m dish. To be sure that your dish is big enough you need to know the strength of the signal at your home.

I think Invacom 0.3db is the best for motorised systems.
It is 30°-30° skew which is very good for incline and decline of the parabola dish without losing polarization.
Only defect is the pointing end is covered with a thin UV film which easily deteriorates.
Another is it costs about 25 euros
Inverto Black Ultra is also quite a good lnb

Re: what's the best LNB ??

By own experience, I think that is more important a big dish that a expensive lnb.
I have a standard lnb suplied by local satelite provider and an inverto black and I noticed no diference on a 1,20m dish. But if I test both on a 80cm dish, then the inverto gets a litle mmore signal.
So if you have a big dish, any lnb is fine.

I recently used this LNB I assure you that the quality / price ratio is unparalleled: Single LNB 0.2dB Inverto blach ultra high gain low noise 40mm & HDTV DVB-S2

Re: what's the best LNB ??

The 0.1dB noise is what the LNB's HEMT Transistor is producing.

Please keep in mind that there is atmospheric noise:
                      0.1 dB at 4 GHz
                      0.2 dB at 12 GHz
                      0.4 dB at 20 GHz
                      and so on...

So if you LNB's noise level would be 0.2dB or 0.1dB there is realy NO difference in quality!

But if you want realy good LNB's I advice Katrein but their expensive but GOOD.
If your looking for Price/Quality I suggest ALPS or the already here suggested Inverto IDLB-SINL40 Black Ultra

                        Single INVACOM SNH-031, for example.

The other day I installed a Twin Inverto Black Ultra and had good results. They say the Inverto are also quite good.

Reminder : don't forget to mention why you think specific lnb is the best.
Always mention the reason you think it's the best in "what is the best...." posts as this is very usefull info to share with all members.

i would go for the Inverto Black Ultra makes big signal gains on weaker sats.

would agree with jonny, inverto black is the best in my opinion.did change mine
a while back and it increased signal by at least 10 to 15%.
