    Two receivers on one LNB

How to connect two receivers on one LNB? Is it possible? I have DM 800HD receiver.

If the LNB has 2 outputs, run a cable to both receivers. Otherwise you could use something like a Smart Priority Switch.

      @sonc

I have single LNB. What's better solution, to buy twin LNB or to use a Smart Priority Switch? I don't know, what is a Smart Priority Switch and how it works.

      Best regards. Thanks a lot

A twin LNB (i.e. an LNB with 2 outputs) is better, as you can run a cable direct to each receiver.

A switch has one input for your LNB feed, and 2 outputs - 1 for each receiver. With the SPS for example, one receiver would be master, the other slave. You may need to have one receiver in standby while the other is on. Only really useful if you can't run a second cable form your dish.

The simplest and most versatile way to do this is to have a dual polarity LNB, with each polarity via a splitter to one 2 x 1 or (4 X 1 Switch on the master STB. (Either, but not both.) You don't have to use all the inputs). One of these is controlled by the STB tone burst (A,B,C, or D control in the antennae setup of the STBs..
Using this you can have both working at the same time, either H or V.
There are many variations that could be used, but I think that this would be the best for your application.

Not quite what I had in mind, but should give the general idea. Just substitute the H and V outputs of the dual LNB for the C and Ku band inputs.

If your LNB has single output you could still connect second receiver using the Loop output of the first receiver but it would be possible to watch only channels on same transponder if you use the two receivers at the same time.

There is no need to complicate things you need to buy twin LNB this is LNB with two outputs, it isnt very expensive.

Yeah, I can second it, buy a twin lnb. There is no need to complicate it with any splitter and such. Twin lnbs are usually more expensive by a couple of bucks/pounds but that's all.

I will accept advice to buy twin LNB, majority said it. What's SCR LNB, what is its advantage in comparison to twin LNB.

                  Best regards.

Without doubt twin LNB is proper and easier way for 2 receivers. Just go for it...

Any other way than twin lnb will lead to inappropriate operation and failure of the LNB , because two devices will try to use one LNB at the same time.

The best option is a twin lnb.

If your going to the trouble of getting up and changing the LNB, I would plan a bit more for the future, and go for a QUAD LNB, (LNB with 4 Outputs)

That way when you want say a PVR Sat box, or add another one you won't have to get another LNB.
I would recommend something like a inverto black ultra quad lnb.

You can use the loop of one of the receivers - but you'll loose the channels in V transponders - for the V it uses 13.8...14V and for H 17.8...18V, and always the 18V is greather so basically you'll see only channels in H transponders... ...

Just put a switch from single LNB of your satellite dish to the one end of the reciver 1 and the other end of the reciver 2. Then when you turn off one reciver you will be able to watch on the other one and vice-versa. If there are still two of them on ON then you can just watch the channels like the other posters says from H frequency because it has a higer voltage input.

Believe me it is working and I have it installed at my home.
