Re: Two receivers on one LNB

Any chance the OP could let us know what he finally decided on as there seems to be about 5 or 6 different solutions mentioned here and i was going to suggest a multiplex/diplex solution as well over a single cable LOL.

anyway would love to hear what you decided to do after all.

If fitting a new LNB you may as well fit a Quad or Octo so you have plenty of outputs in case you decide to get Sky+/HD in the future as Sky+ requires two feeds so 2 Sky+ boxes would need 4 cable feeds.

If you have a single LNB and run to 2 receivers via a loopthrough cable then the first receiver will take priority and I believe you will only be able to watch channels on the same transponder on the 2nd receiver. However, if you have dual or quad LNB then you run 2 cables from the LNB one to each receiver and both receivers can watch any channel.

As none of the earlier written you don't read. Buy twin LNB and everything will work correctly.

I believe that the 2nd is the correct solution.

Re: Two receivers on one LNB

If you use only a single LNB you can't plug 2 receivers. It's clear.
But there is a solution, and it is plug to a splitter with one input and two outputs like the before picture.
This will be a problem if one receiver tune a horizontal polarizated channel and the second one tune a vertical polarizated channel. Then you will see nothing.
This method only works, when both receivers tune the same polarization, then one receiver could se a channel and the other another channel.
But this is a bad solution.
As most of users have commented, the best option is purchase a LNB with 2 outputs, then one user can watch a channel and the other user can watch another one, don't mind the polarization.
                  Regards.

I think LNB with 2 out cheapest way, but if u have long distance, maybe can use what they say before everything before take on paper

Re: Two receivers on one LNB

I replaced my single LNB firstly with a quad LNB and more recently with an octo LNB.

It is very easy and new LNBs can be picked up cheaply on eBay.

This is my recomended solution to the problem.

i suggest a disecq switch works better than a classic "T" switch

We are talking about one LNB for two receivers, so a diseqC is not a solution.
LNB with two outputs is the better option.
                            Regards.

twin lnb is the best solution.

yes i agree, but if you are going to change the the lnb, go for the quad lnb, be a little extra, but good for the future.
