Re: Problem in LNB
Heavy rain will always cause signal loss, even with the strongest of signals.
Usually it comes back again when the rain eases, so if you still have a problem
I would look very carefully at the connection at the Lnb end, also check the cable along it run in case there is a cut in the outer shield. If the rain was accompanied by strong wind then also check the Dish alignment. A good way to check for rain ingress is to disconnect
at the Lnb and tap the connection into your hand.

Re: Problem in LNB
agree with mobley3,
Also check if you have or not any signal on channels with Pol. H and V and Low or High freq.
because it can be only PART of the lNB is not working
this to see if the problem is the LNB or something else , like mobley3 saidVu+solo & dreambox

Re: Problem in LNB
this also happened to me a few months ago, on some lnbs the suns rays can slowly perish and make brittle the receiving part of the lnb until finally a split in the plastic occurs, letting in damp and rain, changed lnb, problem solved.Do not send me iptv/cline requests,
technical or iptv/cline server questions in PM!
I will not answer!Comment

Re: Problem in LNB
Is everything back and working OK?you did not say. Also did you make sure that there is NO water in the cable ?. Water can have all sorts of strange affects, such as a loss of certain frequencies, while others work OK.

Re: Problem in LNB
Hi
I think it's not a good idea for your installation to have water inside the cable
Maybe this is the cause of the weak signal
Is it possible to change whole the cable? If You Like My Post..... Please Press the Thanks ButtonComment

Re: Problem in LNB
This cable, I install just month before, I cut its initial half feet, I think no more water in it, Insulation tape over connector cause this problem, any chance for damaged LNB to become alive ?Vu+ Solo2

Re: Problem in LNB
A death LNB is death, a repair is uneconomic,
even Kathrein does not repair their very expensive LNBīs
(you can do it for hobby-reasons if you know how to, but is is not worth the time you have to invest)Don't send me c-line requests, iptv requests, technical, premium and iptv server questions in PM!Comment

Re: Problem in LNB
No there is not much chance of it, there is only a small amount of DC current coming from the Stb..13V & 18V depending on the polarity. You could get a small shock, but you should always switch off the Stb before disconnecting the cable atthe Lnb to avoid shorting it. Personally I would be more concerned about the water in the cable, if even a small amount gets into your Stb then you will be in danger of major damage. Disconnect the cable at the Receiver end and wrap a plastic bag around it and leave it overnight, this should give you an indication if there is any water draining down. If you are in any doubt, replace the cable, it will be a lot cheaper than having to replace the Receiver. As I mentioned before make sure to use proper Amalgamating tape or better, when you remake the connection at the dish.
