    Dish adjusting with e2 plugin?

    Hello,

is it possible to adjust a dish with a special e2 plugin, which gives the signal via network from the receiver to a laptop.
My problem is that my dish is in the garden and the receiver in the living room.
Is there a plugin which gives the signal status into a webinterface so that I can get this signal informations over my laptop in the garden (over home-wlan) when I'm adjusting the dish?
I don't want to buy a special sat finder.

Sorry, but I don't need the information only one time, I need it permanently actual on the laptop screen during the adjustment work at the dish.

        ok, then try this :

        while [ . ]; do curl -s __http://ip51/xml/streaminfo |grep snr; sleep 1; done

        while [ . ]; do banner $( curl -s __http://ip51/xml/streaminfo |grep snr); sleep 1; done

        while [ . ]; do echo; banner $( curl -s __http://ip51/xml/streaminfo |grep snr |sed 's/<[^>]*>//g; s/.$//') ; echo; sleep 1; done

Dreamdroid and vu+ player have signal meters on them. Vu+ player is the better of the 2

            Hello

I don't know about any E2 plugin for dish adjusting, but I know for the other special "traditional" plugin...

            The phone

I always use a phone and my wife use another and we talk to each other using internal call.
She is looking at the tv with the sat finder of the receiver and she tells me how I should adjust the dish in order to have a good signal.

I wonder if there is another solution that does the job.

Maybe with teamviewer on your home pc and your laptop?

You indeed don't need a plugin because tools to check signal meter are already installed in your box ... you only need a sw (android if you use a smartphone or windows/linux if you use a laptop) to connect via wifi to your receiver and take control of the signal meter.
Both bokkie's and aplok's suggestions are good solutions in this way.

To make perfect lnb alignment, personally I use a pc with an old dvb card + fastsatfinder + Soundwire server.
With this combination (and a wifi network) I can hear in the headphones of my smartphone a continuous voice that is telling me signal level (or signal quality ... the one that I prefer at the moment).
With these tools my eyes and hands can fully concentrate on dish and lnb ...

                I have a xtrend et4000 and enigma 2 - open pli.

Untill now I put a small tv and a receiver in 2m distance to my dish in the garden while I'm adjusting the dish/lnbs.

Now I found a solution, perhaps it helps others with the same problem - not really good but I can work with it:
Connected laptop near the dish - and I took a screenshot (in webinterface with SNR and AGC visible on the screen) and refresh the osd-picture every 1 second so I have the actual informations as "moving 1 second osd-picture film".

Why you don't try your Android Phone, If not, then put some Android application on Laptop through Android Emulator and got the signal of Dream box or Vu+ like STBs
                  Vu+ Solo2
                  Dream Box 800HD,
                  Neotion 3000, Skystar2, PTCL IPTV
                  HP LCD W2338h
                  Samsung LED 40 C5000

Sorry, I only have a very old phone - no app possible.
So I have to do it with my laptop - and it has a much bigger screen (better when you work at the dish).

                      As Satphoenix , I don't have a smartphone...

I would like for you to describe step by step, how a laptop with wi-fi can be used for dish adjusting.
Should I use the web interface of my receiver (eg a dm500s) or a special plugin?
How exactly should it be done?

I have used a very cheap satfinder to install dozens of systems, motorized and fixed, they are available under 10£ and beat the delay on most receivers signal strength readings, it is easy to either adjust them or if signal on meter is too high, simply cover the front of the LNB with a wet rag to simulate rain fade.
