    Re: Recommendation

    Hi @Inquisitive

I believe that if you buy a 120cm dish and a HD linux receiver you will be fine.

Some Chinese and Japanese channels are in hotbird and you can receive them easily, but to get channels from asian satellites , I think you can't because of your location.

So is there a HD receiver that people prefer? Are Dreambox any good?

          Re: Recommendation

If you're talking of an original dreambox, they are way overpriced.
I would suggest vu+, gigablue or even technomate.
Vu+ solo2 would be top of the list, But isn't cheap at £300.
Would you want a twin tuner or single tuner receiver?

                @bokkie is right

                Original dreambox is overpriced
Why you don't look for a clone dreambox?
Just remember, the support that has a dreambox...
Clones don't have the quality of an original but are good and them price is the half of a n original.
I suggest you a dm800se with a8p sim that can take original images.

                    Re: Recommendation

Twin tuners that I'd recommend, top of the list would be the vu+ solo2, or if you can wait a month or so, the vu+ duo2. You could also get a vu+ uno and stick a twin tuner module in it, but the price wouldn't be far off a solo2, which is a superior machine.
If your budget doesn't stretch to £300 you could get the TM T2-OE twin tuner which is a decent stb for £210, but not really in the same league as the solo2. It does have support from the brilliant vix image, which is always a positive in my book.
Then for around £150 you could get the amiko alien whih is a dual boot spark and enigma2 stb, but from what I've heard the enigma2 side is a bit buggy.

I have both original and clone box.
The quality of the clone isn't so good , as the original because I had many problems in the past, even a faulty tuner that I changed.
The Performances are the same both on original and clone box.
