    Re: LNB Multiswitch Receiver setup

    Hi mate

As @mirny said, you need a Quatro LNB.
Usually Switches need Quatro LNB for low and high band.

For second building you need a cable directly from Switch.
I think there is no way to use something else.
You must find a solution to pass one more cable.

The current LNB is dead, have called the service multiple times but only now they saw the lnb is dead after i payed them many times.

Want to try to do it myself. I am a network administrator so i am ok with cabling but i know not much about satellite television.

    Questions
    1. Can I replace what i have with what is on the diagram ?
    2. Crossing the road i have 2 cables only, i cannot install more as i have to dig the road what can i put in the second building to split the signal to multiple tvs ?
    3. Will the setup work wit the described components ?

I cannot mount a dish on second building as there are too many trees

Thanks for any kind of help

    The dish is a 60 x80 Dish i think
If you want to use mutiswitch, you need a QUATTRO lnb istead of quad lnb, otherwise, it will not work.
look closely on that switch inputs there is low band H/V and High band H/V. and inthat picture (what should be here) there dont need to be anything, just connect cables from output to receiver. you cant split signal like in dvbt. so you need three cables to second building, so what you can do is, replace one cable with twin cable, or i saw one cable with four veins. or you just can use only two receiver, or you can stream through the network.

That is actually a very good idea, thanks, i will have to check to see how much room is in those ducts.
Otherwise you do not see any other better solution ?

You can use one cable with an SCR switch, but it require decoder with SCR support and an SCR switch - 4 or 6 tuner are supported, it depend by the switch.

In my opinion, with your configuration, the BEST way is to find a way to add another one or two cable.

A curiosity, but you put the wires directly into the ground, do not have them routed in a cable duct - embossed pipe?

If you have use a cable duct, what's the cables diameters? 0.7mm or 0.5mm? In my experience, where there are a pipe with 0.7mm cables you can substitute them without problems with a 0.5mm cable, and instead two 0.7mm cables you can put three 0.5mm cables, sometimes also four.
