cant pick up 3 deg east

I see there is a few biss channels on 3 deg east i have tried to get a signal on this sat but cannot pick up any signal is it possible in this country or am i wasting my time

3.0 East has a strong signal and could be easily picked up with a 80cm dish in the north of the UK. People in the south might have problem getting this satellite. For the tuning and getting the signal try a free to air channels with the strong signal.
Try these 2 Frequencies

There are a couple of Olympic feeds clearing in Biss Service 1,2 and 3. If you are looking for the F1 feeds they were working earlier but not now 7.00 local time

If you are going to scan it with an active c line from Satlover then Al_Jazeera sports are the strongest ones.

Waiting for crazybandit to come back but I'm interested in the answer to this and what channels are on the two sats...

Never mind...a quick look at __kingofsats.com shows that there is little on either bird.
A couple of news channels from Ivory Coast and Cameroon and some general progrmming from Congo on Rascom
And nothing of note (LRT 1-8) on Eutelsat 3A (3.0E)

It's Eutelsat 3C on 3.0E that has all the programming...

Now showing as FI -Budapest and start grid for GP2 S 74% Q 56% in Dublin on 1Mtr Dish, as microchick has said you should be well able to get this bird on a 1.2 Mtr in Uk.

I'm getting S60 Q52 on 12741H
but only S62 Q36 on 12654H but a good stable picture. (1m dish in Cumbria, north England)

The 12654H TP is the Al Jazeera sports frequency and is very strong so should be an easy pickup on a 1m dish in the north of england, I get around 62% in the rain at the moment on my 1.2m Gibertini.

I can confirm you CAN recieve this in the south. I have made a thread earlier about it too.

I also have a 1.2m dish but you are going to need a really good sensitive tuner in your box (I have a TM5402HD) and a decent LNB.

This is the most interesting satellite that I have come across in the sense that the signal bar is less than the quality. (50% and 67% respectively). I used these transponders:

12682 H & 0935
12694 H 9535

I have no idea why this is such a difficult satellite to recieve but it is worth your while to get a lock on it. It took a lot of patience and fine tuning to get it to work.

One VERY important factor to compare with is that your arc for your motor and your angles have to be SPOT on otherwise you will not get signal. A good indicator for this is if you pick up NILESAT at 7west and EUTELSAT 10east. If you can get both these satellites and also things like 39east and 30west then your arc and dish setup is perfect and the only thing stopping you getting 3.1east is your scanning and fine tuning OR your box sensitivity tuner OR lnb...

That is all the info I can think of, but I myself am curious to understand how this satellite is so difficult to get with such a good system and dish size, and why it has such low strength bar.

I cannot pick up nilesat at 7 west but pick up 10 east eutelsat and 39 east no problem with good signal strength

If you have 10east then that should be a good start... I think you should set up 5east sirius and then move the dish slightly west 1 degree and perhaps adjust minor adjustments at the dish because with a 1.2m dish you should have it. Also try with the stronger transponders that carry the Al jazeera sports channel for reference.
