A diseqc switch has insertion loss of about 3-4 dB.
so, it's normal to see an increase of 1% without using diseqc switch.

I was made the same test and I saw an increase of 2-3% beacause Im using 2 diseqc switces in arrow.

O.K. rizwan another crazy idea that I see on the internet cover your dish with
aluminium paper glue it on or aluminium based paint seems to do the job as well.
On all accounts seems to boost signal reception, one drawback is if you leave it
reflective it will fry your lnb but after foiling you paint the dish with a matt paint
and that should take care of that, along with this fit a bigger feed horn to
        increase signal.

It seems very funny to put a foil on a huge dish, Its install on a third floor and also not easy to move it down as it weighs more than 600 pound with its stand

              Re: Increase signal

surface of dish has direct effect for receive signals but commonly we dont have problem for surface ofcourse if surface of dish have snow its diffrence. but my exprience tell me location of dish is important for get better signal sometimes if youchange the location of dish about 3 or 4 meter maybe get better result

I think its a good idea. Specially when the dish has moss accumulated.

When cleaning be careful not to destroy the reflecting surface.

look around, the obstacoles could also reduce the signal quality of motorized dish especially
