I have gone through the previous threads for the last two hours and have read all the installation guide but I have not learnt anything new to help me with the problem I have. Firstly, the receiver is a TM5402HD using USALS set up with a TM2600 motor. I have set up this exact same system for myself on a pole and reciever 92%+ signal quality on ALL satellites apart from nilesat 7w which is still very good for my area. I have achieved the perfect setup here then.
However I have a problem on setting up the same exact system for someone else who lives nearby. I did exactly the same process, but the only different is that this is on a bracket on a wall, but I have made sure that it is definitely 100% vertical with a spirit level. Anyway I then centred the motor with the dish, locked onto thor 1w and found a 94% signal quality. Then I moved to 7w and found the same signal I have at home. However, the further east or west I went the signal would drop, so hispasat and hellas sat ( two extreme opposites on east and west) would not pick up at all. It was from 28e that the signal would drop moving eastwards. I adjusted dish declination and motor elevation for so many hours but nothing worked.
Note: The only thing that I have not done in both of these installations including my own which is 100% perfect, is the step where you have to insert your latitude and longtitude into your receiver. I did not do that in mine yet it worked. I simply used thor for a reference point and everything worked.
What could be the problem considering any satellites near the reference work with 90%+ signal quality, but the further moving away the less signal. Could it be the inserting of the lat/long into reciever, and if it is, why was it not required for my personal installation? Also how do I enter this data in a TM5402HD?
Thanks
Odysseas
