    Signal difference

I have on the same installation a DM 600 and DM 500.
From the first i have a signal strengh about to 85% and the second about to 93%, how can there be such a big difference?

Does anyone know how to respond?

I think the difference is only management interface but the functionality is the same

Could be that the tuner sensitivity is different so the DM500's gain is higher than the DM600, or could be that the signal analysis software routine is written in a way that recognize the same signal strength but displays two different values.

Did you take both readings on the same day? If not, it could just be down to the weather.

well first of all, are the two receivers connected on same cable? I mean cables are same lenght? If not this can be the reason of different signals. Then did you've checked signal strenght on same transponder on both receivers? To have a real test you should to connect both receivers on same cable ( one a time) and check the same transponder. If still you'll have different signal level this can depends by:
            1) Tuners has different sensibilty
            2) Receiver software has different scale.

I've three different receivers on same dish and I've differences too checking the signals from each to other, important is you'll not have problems into watching the transmissions.
Just click on thanks button if my post has helped you

Yes receivers in the same dish.. lenght of cables is more or less the same... maybe it is the receiver software, but in fact it is an gemini project 4.7 for both... so i guess it is the tuner's sensibility.
