How to install 16 feeds on one cable

With diseqc 1.2 now you can switch 16 LNBs in one cable. Just you'll need a right switch like this:

and much time to point all 16 feeds on the dish!
You can use this switch also to differents dishes with many LNB so to have a fast zapping with your receiver. Just be sure your receiver supports diseqc 1.2 before to buy a switch like this.
    Enjoy!

Re: How to install 16 feeds on one cable

Hello Satman, nice to see you again!

The EMP is a good switch , i had one ( it was a 8/17) so only with 4 LNB.

The problem is that it becomes very hot suddently, so you have to install it in a secure place.

Outside is better not, because is very fragile ( as you can see very well the quality of material is so - so ).

    Have a nice day!

Hi noxonstaff, is nice to see you back too!
I know this product is not so resistent, anyway 9 years of works are not few!
For my installations I prefer to use diseqc 1.0 and 1.1 in cascade, so if one will be broken will be cheap to repleace then one big 1.2 switch.
But the most important thing is to install the switch in a way it will be protected from rain, the humidity kills elettronic things really fast.

How is signal strehght with 1.0 and 1.1 in cascade?

You should consider around 2 db attenuation for each switch, this if you use a good quality switch of course. For my experience it is not critical for most european satellites. You can compensate this loss using a good cable, it has more attenuation then a switch on long distance, the difference between a good cable and a cheap cable can be around 10 db each 10 meters. For this I ever suggest to don't be stingy when you buy it.

              I tried a new stuff, 2 sat+1 antenna, 8 users
              A new brand called "opticum"
very very cheap ( around 100 swiss francs... 70 euros)

Obvious in a secure place, scotched.

              Lost 0.00000000001 db :-) ... i have a little dish , then I have to!

I can finally see also the german channels in astra.. some are very poor signal, but now i can see them with a ber of around 50.

( also blue hustler netherlands .. which is very very poor signal.. but i had to parental control it..hahahahaha)

Are amazing pics noxonstaff! I've the same dish of your second pic, it is a glorious Echostar 1,20 Mt. It works from 15 years without rusty, is made in plastic with metallic net inside. I think now is impossible to find a dish so, don't think any producer do it again. I've installed it when sat tv was only analogic and was just 16 channels on 13 east! Astra has had just 32 channels on Astra 1A and 1B. Most of those was Sky UK channels crypted in videocrypt and some was from Sweden transmitted in D2 MAC and crypted with Eurocrypt M.

Which is your central LNB? Hotbird? If you've poor signal try to point Astra and use the second feed for Hotbird, 13 signals has not much differences from tp to tp like on Astra.

No one is central.... is centered on 16° so i have poor signal ( but not so poor) in every one... HAHAHA

From your flag I think you're in Swiss, there Astra signal is strong, how small is your dish? 40 cm?
