Yes it can easly substitute a performant SatFinder, the single disadvantage is that you have to have a PC near you when you want to search a satellite

It also has voice function so you can calibrate your dish not being near a computer

You need a DVB PCI card or USB-box to hook up your dish. These are available from many suppliers, prices range from $30 to $500, or 25-400 Euros. Use ****** to search for Hauppauge, Technotrend, Genpix, Pinnacle etc. But there are many more.

Check the application first to see which cards are compatible, as not all cards have the required features to support this software!

Is a good software like i already said, but it has some issues on old skystar2 cards, anyway the best one is satfinder from fastsatfinder

It cost €10
It emits an increasing sound as you get closer to a satellite.

it just show signal strength when u near satellite....still this is just a approximation...

Right. But it works for me because i move around because of my work and I find it very useful every time i set up my dish.

i set up my 2.3m motorised dish with TV and receiver sitting right next to it...and i can tell u it was hell of a job to get it precise....but finally got it...

Satmeter has worked for me over many installations over the years also.
