UPC Broadband Slovakia has secured permission from the country’s Telecom Office (TU SR) to operate MMDS services in Bratislava and environs from July 1, 2011 until June 30, 2021.
The cable operator had initially been assigned frequencies only until June 30 this year but then secured the extension following a tender in which a company named Trnavatel also took part.
The frequencies assigned to UPC Broadband Slovakia are in the 2200-2300 MHz band.
In a separate development, UPC Broadband Slovakia has added the channels Spektrum HD and Investigation Discovery to its digital offer.
