Following its airing in 3D of the English Premier League match between Manchester United and Manchester City this weekend, French pay TV operator Canal Plus plans to ramp up its 3D offering in March by showing two movie and football events each month, simultaneously with their airing on the regular Canal Plus channels.
In March the broadcast will show Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland from Disney and a football match between Olympique de Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain. In April, it will air Disney animated movie Bolt and the weekend of April 16 match between Real Madrid and Barcelona, followed in May with a showing of a yet-to-be-identified move and the weekend of May 7 match between Manchester United and Chelsea.
The 3D service is available to subscribers with DualS, +Le Cube and HD Wifi satellite decoders, as well as to its subscribers on the Free and SFR networks with the latest generation of decoders.
